Dennison Commercials is totally on-brand for Elmer’s Big Belfast Trail this summer, as the transport dealer recently unveiled a special patchwork-liveried truck to announce its sponsorship of the event.
Dennisons joins the growing list of businesses which have signed up to officially sponsor Elmer’s Big Belfast Trail, which is being organised by the Northern Ireland Hospice in partnership with Wild in Art and Andersen Press.
The event will now be truck-tastic as well as elephant-astic, as the art trail will host a herd of uniquely-decorated sculptures of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, inspired by the best-selling books by David McKee. The sculptures will pop up at key landmarks around Belfast for ten weeks from 20th June.
Just like Elmer, the truck is unique and will certainly stand out – you can’t miss its patchwork markings! The truck will travel with various local hauliers all over the country and may be spotted with the Elmer branding across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and the UK.
This branded truck, an alternative offering alongside the traditional Dennisons contract hire option, is available for shorter term hire for customers who need cover for servicing or breakdowns or require further fleet support through busier periods or when trialling new work.
John Jenkins, Dennison Commercials Director, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be an official sponsor of Elmer’s Big Belfast Trail in support of Northern Ireland Hospice. The colourful, vibrant campaign will not only help raise vital funds for this incredible charity, but it will also bring fun and joy to the city centre this summer!”
Katrina Dennison, Dennison Commercials Director, said: “Back in 2020, as we geared up to celebrate our 50th year in business, we asked our team of over 250 staff to choose a charity that our business would support in our fundraising endeavours – our team chose Northern Ireland Hospice.
“Over the last couple of years, Dennison Commercials has been incredibly proud to support Northern Ireland Hospice in the fantastic work that it does in providing specialist services and essential care to individuals and families across the province.
“Our team is excited to unveil our Dennison Rentals Volvo Truck decorated in support of Elmer’s Big Belfast Trail. We hope the truck will bring awareness and smiles when it’s spotted out on the road!”
Northern Ireland Hospice, Director of Brand and Commercial Development, Mary McCall, said: “We are delighted that Dennisons is joining us as an official sponsor. Their support means that we can truly get this show on the road, as excitement ramps up for the 10-week mammoth celebration!
“It’s not too late for other businesses to sign up to be a key part of a summer event that will delight the whole city. The Big Belfast Trail will bring communities and businesses together, so we’d love for other businesses to get involved and join our herd!
“The family-friendly trail will deliver an estimated boost of £10m to the local economy, as around one million people will take part in the free mass participation event. It’s an amazing opportunity to build awareness of your business’ brand, boosting your organisation’s reputation amongst customers, stakeholders and supporters, through association with the Big Belfast Trail and the NI Hospice brand.”
The distinctive Elmer truck is part of the Dennison Rentals spot hire fleet and will be making a unique mark of its own, as it will be popping up across the country as part of a special Spot the Truck competition on social media – so the public will want to keep an eye out on the Dennison Commercials’ Facebook page for an ‘Eye Spy Dennison Rentals Elmer Truck’ competition!
As well as Dennison Commercials, the other high-profile names who have been announced as official sponsors of the ‘mammoth’ event are: Belfast City Council; Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council; media partner U105; Belfast One; Irish News; PWC; O’Neills Irish International Sports Company Ltd; Ulster University; Lost City Adventure Golf; Castle Court shopping centre; Victoria Square Shopping Centre, Neueda Training; Tesco; and Aircon Panasonic.
